Akiko Yamane is a composer of contemporary art music based in Japan. She focuses on capturing subtle texture in a large system such as consumerism including its pain, kawaii, desire, and restraint through her works for orchestra, instruments, and electronic media.
In addition to composing, she continues to curate, perform, field record amusement spaces, collaborate with visual arts, and engage in other cross-disciplinary activities to create opportunities and spaces for exploration and dialogue through sound.
