Kalle Hakosalo is a percussionist, performer, and composer whose passion is to deconstruct the presuppositions of contemporary music and art within the general public, and unite people through his work.
Hakosalo has been featured at festivals and concert series such as Dark Music Days, Spor Festival, Darmstädter Ferienkurse, Los Angeles Monday Evening Concerts, impuls Festival, Helsinki Biennial and Festival Internacional de la Imagen. Moreover, he is a founding member of the Copenhagen-based ensemble NEKO3 and a co-artistic director of the cross-disciplinary Aava-festival in Finland.
Hakosalo has studied percussion and contemporary music in Denmark, Switzerland, US and Germany. With his primary artistic interest lying in close collaboration with interesting composers and artists regardless of their medium, he has worked with numerous modern-day artists across disciplines.
