Nikolaus von Bemberg is a German pianist and performer, based in Copenhagen and Munich. He enjoys working in a number of different genres including classical and electronic music as well as improvisation. In his playing he considers the space we make for music, where it can be heard and why it is significant.
“Fragments for me has been a new way of collaborating with a composer. Over the course of two years Connor McLean and I met up regularly and shared ideas and thoughts on the piece. It became an ambitious project which constantly changed. With the project grew a friendship between us and for me personally also a first answer to in what direction I want to develop as a performer.
The piece is an ongoing process and seems to me somehow close to life with trivial, exciting and mysterious events in it, but also weird and futuristic from a very personal standpoint. I am looking forward to sharing this experience with all of you and invite you into this space at the premiere of Fragments at Literaturhaus as part of MINU Festival.”
