The artistic and curatorial practice of Mikkel Schou (b. 1991, Denmark) is characterized by a great diversity of approaches; all refracted through the potentialities of interdisciplinary art and experimental music. Schou is artistic director of K!ART [pronounced klart], a flexibly-sized ensemble based in Copenhagen specializing in instrumental new music and post-instrumental performance art, and Co-Director of MINU_festival_for_expanded music together with composer and curator Dylan Richards. Curation as an artistic practice is central to Schou’s practice, in which events are conceptualized as musical compositions that are comprised of distinct artworks that contextualize each other.

Schou holds a BA and MA from DJM in Aarhus in contemporary music performance (main instrument guitar) and an advanced post-graduated (solist) degree from DKDM, graduating in instrumental performance and artistic research. He is a 2021 recipient of the Leonie Sonning talent award.
